What it does

Private Browser is a hardened in-app web browser built into Carbide that leaves absolutely nothing behind. It disables cookies, blocks cache, saves no history, and prevents any website from storing local data — all by default, with no settings to misconfigure. When you close a session, everything is wiped automatically. Unlike your phone's normal browser or even its incognito mode, Carbide's Private Browser is sandboxed entirely inside the app, so tabs, searches, and visited pages never appear in your device's browser history or suggestions. It is completely free, works offline for pages you load, and requires no account or setup — just open it and browse without a trace.

How to use the Private Browser

  1. Open Carbide and tap Private Browser from the Security category.
  2. Type or paste a URL into the address bar and tap Go.
  3. Browse normally — no history, cookies, or cache are saved at any point.
  4. When you are done, close the browser or navigate away; all session data is wiped automatically.
  5. Re-open the tool any time for a completely fresh, clean session.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from my browser's incognito mode?
Incognito still leaks to your device's DNS, suggestions, and sometimes system-level logs. Carbide's Private Browser is sandboxed inside the app — visited pages never touch your phone's browser at all.
Does Private Browser block trackers and ads?
It blocks cookies and local storage, which prevents most tracking. It does not have a built-in ad-blocker, but since nothing is retained between sessions, cross-site tracking profiles cannot build up.
Can I use it to log into accounts?
Yes, but credentials are not saved — you will need to log in again each session. That is intentional: the browser is designed for quick, traceless lookups, not long-term account sessions.
Is my browsing visible to Carbide or anyone else?
No. Carbide does not log URLs, intercept traffic, or send anything to a server. The connection goes directly from your device to the website you visit.
