What it does

Battery gives you a real-time view of your device's battery status — current charge level, charging state, estimated time to full or empty, and where available, deeper health metrics like voltage, temperature, and cycle count. Instead of guessing whether you have enough charge to get through a meeting or a journey, you can check the exact numbers in seconds. The visual gauge makes the level immediately obvious at a glance, and the stats grid lays out everything your browser can report from the system battery API. Everything is read locally from your device, nothing is transmitted, and no account is needed. Battery is completely free and works fully offline as part of Carbide.

How to use the Battery

  1. Open Battery in Carbide — your current charge level appears instantly on the gauge.
  2. Check the charging state indicator to see whether the device is plugged in and actively charging.
  3. Read the estimated time remaining to see how long until your battery is full or empty.
  4. Scroll down to the stats grid for deeper details like voltage and temperature if your device reports them.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see voltage or temperature data?
Battery reads from the browser's Battery Status API. Not all browsers and operating systems expose every metric — some only report level and charging state.
Is the estimated time to empty accurate?
It's an estimate based on what the system reports at that moment. Actual drain time will vary with screen brightness, active apps, and network usage.
Does this tool work on desktop browsers too?
Yes, on browsers that support the Battery Status API. Firefox and some desktop browsers may show limited data depending on OS support.
Does Battery send any data off my device?
No. All values are read from your device's own battery reporting and displayed locally. Nothing is ever transmitted.
