What it does
Mirror activates your front-facing camera and turns it into a live, hands-free mirror right inside your browser — no app to install and no selfies saved. It's perfect for a quick check before a meeting, fixing your hair on the go, checking whether something is stuck in your teeth, or applying make-up when you don't have a physical mirror nearby. You can zoom in for a closer look, flip the image horizontally, or freeze the frame to study a still shot. Nothing is recorded or uploaded — the video stream stays entirely on your device and vanishes the moment you close the tool. It's free, needs no sign-up, and works fully offline as part of Carbide's privacy-first toolkit.
How to use the Mirror
- Open Mirror in Carbide and allow camera access when prompted — this stays on your device only.
- Look into your front camera as you would a real mirror.
- Use the zoom slider to get closer to a detail.
- Tap Flip to reverse the image if you prefer a non-mirrored view.
- Tap Freeze to pause on a still frame, then tap again to resume the live feed.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the camera feed saved or uploaded anywhere?
- No. The video stream is processed entirely in your browser and is never saved, recorded, or sent to any server.
- Can I use Mirror without an internet connection?
- Yes. Once Carbide is open, Mirror works fully offline — it only needs access to your device's front camera.
- Why does the image appear flipped compared to what others see of me?
- By default, Mirror shows the front camera in mirrored mode, which feels natural like a real mirror. Use the Flip button to see yourself as others do.
- Does Mirror work on tablets and laptops too?
- Yes, as long as the device has a front-facing camera and your browser supports camera access, Mirror will work the same way.
