Voice Recorder
WEBRecord voice memos and download them as audio files.
What it does
Voice Recorder lets you capture voice memos, ideas, interviews, or meeting notes directly in your browser and download the recording as an audio file — no app required and nothing stored on any server. Press Record, speak, and press Stop when you're done. You can play back the recording immediately to check the quality, then download it as a standard audio file ready to share or archive. The tool uses your device's microphone and runs entirely offline once the page is loaded, so every word you say stays completely private. No account, no cloud, no subscription — just straightforward audio capture that works on any device with a browser and a microphone. It's free to use and there are no time limits on recordings.
How to use the Voice Recorder
- Open Voice Recorder and allow microphone access when the browser asks for permission.

- Speak your memo, note, or message — a timer shows the elapsed time.
- Click Stop when you have finished recording.
- Preview the audio using the built-in player, then click Download to save the file to your device.
Frequently asked questions
- What audio format does it save in?
- Voice Recorder saves recordings in the format your browser supports natively — typically WebM on Chrome and OGG or MP4 on other browsers. The file is ready to play on most devices.
- Is there a maximum recording length?
- No. There is no imposed time limit. You can record for as long as you need; just keep in mind that longer recordings produce larger files.
- Does the recording get sent anywhere?
- No. The recording is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and no one but you can access it.
- Can I record a call or system audio?
- Voice Recorder captures input from your device's microphone only. Recording system audio or a phone call depends on your operating system's audio routing, which is outside the tool's control.
