What is the Fake Tweet Generator tool?

This fake tweet generator builds a realistic-looking mock X (Twitter) post card that you can fill in with any display name, handle, post text, and like, retweet and reply counts — then export it as an image to share for a joke, a meme, a design mockup or a presentation. Type a name and the tool automatically gives you a colored avatar circle with your first initial, so the card looks complete without needing to upload a photo.

You control every detail: toggle a verified checkmark badge on or off, flip the card between a light or dark theme to match whichever look you are going for, and set custom like, retweet and reply counts that automatically compact into feed-style numbers like '12.3k' or '1.2M' once they get large. The text box has a live character counter so you can see exactly how long your post reads as you type.

It is built purely for entertainment and mockup use — the card is clearly a template, not a real post pulled from any platform, and every generated image carries a small disclaimer to keep that obvious. Once your card looks right, use the share button to export it as a PNG you can drop into a group chat, a slideshow, a joke post or a design comp, all without creating an account or leaving your browser.

How to use the Fake Tweet Generator

  1. Enter a display name and a handle — the handle is auto-prefixed with '@'.
  2. Type the post text you want the card to show; a live counter tracks the character count.
  3. Toggle the verified badge on if you want the blue checkmark next to the name.
  4. Set like, retweet and reply counts — big numbers auto-compact to '12.3k' or '1.2M' style.
  5. Pick a light or dark card theme, then tap share to export or share the finished image.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real tweet or connected to X/Twitter?

No. This is a standalone mockup tool that only runs in your browser — it has no connection to X/Twitter's platform, does not post anything anywhere, and cannot pull or verify real accounts or posts. Every card is clearly for entertainment/mockup use, and the disclaimer under the card makes that explicit.

How is the avatar generated?

There's no photo upload — the avatar is a colored circle showing the first letter of the display name you type. The color is picked deterministically from the name itself, so the same name always produces the same color and different names get different colors.

How do the like/retweet/reply counts format big numbers?

Counts under 1,000 show as-is. From 1,000 up they compact to a 'k' suffix (e.g. 12,345 becomes '12.3k'), and from 1,000,000 up they switch to an 'M' suffix (e.g. 1,234,567 becomes '1.2M') — the same style real social feeds use.

Can I download or share the finished card as an image?

Yes. The share button captures the card exactly as shown and either opens your device's native share sheet (so you can send it straight to a chat app) or downloads it as a PNG file if sharing images isn't supported in your browser.

Is this tool free and does it require an account?

Yes — it's completely free, works entirely in your browser, and needs no sign-up or account. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server.
