What it does
Merge PDF lets you combine multiple PDF files into a single document, in whatever order you choose, entirely inside your browser — nothing is ever uploaded to a server. Drag in your files, arrange them by dragging the pages into the order you want, and click merge to download the finished PDF. It's ideal for combining a cover letter with a CV, assembling chapters into one report, or joining scanned pages that were saved separately. The tool is completely free, requires no account or sign-up, and works fully offline once the page has loaded. Your files stay on your device and are never transmitted anywhere — what you're doing with your documents is your business alone.
How to use the Merge PDF
- Click «Add files» or drag your PDF files into the upload area — add as many as you need.
- Drag the file cards up or down to set the order they will appear in the merged document.
- Review the file list to make sure every file is present and in the right position.
- Click «Merge PDF» to combine them — the processing happens in your browser.
- Download the merged PDF file to your device when it's ready.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my PDF files uploaded to any server?
- No. Everything happens entirely inside your browser using local processing. Your files are never sent to any server, and no one else can see or access them.
- Is there a limit to how many files or pages I can merge?
- There is no hard file count limit set by the tool. Very large files (hundreds of pages or heavy images) may be slow to process depending on your device's memory, but there's no artificial cap.
- Will merging damage or alter the content of my PDFs?
- No. The merge operation concatenates your PDFs as-is — text, images, formatting, and embedded fonts are preserved. It does not re-compress or modify the content of individual pages.
- Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged without first unlocking them. Use the Unlock PDF tool in Carbide to remove the password, then merge the unlocked files.
