How to use the Team Generator

Frequently asked questions
How does it decide who goes on which team?
The names are shuffled into a random order, then dealt out one by one across the teams (round-robin). That keeps team sizes even — they never differ by more than one member — and makes every arrangement equally likely, so the split is fair.
What if the number of names does not divide evenly?
The extra members are spread across the earliest teams, so sizes differ by at most one. For example, 7 names into 2 teams gives a team of 4 and a team of 3.
How many names and teams can I use?
Add as many names as you like, one per line, and split into anywhere from 2 to 8 teams. Duplicate names and blank lines are ignored automatically.
Are my names private?
Yes. The list is processed entirely in your browser — names are never uploaded, stored or sent to any server. Once the page has loaded it even works offline, and closing the tab clears everything.
Can I reshuffle if I do not like the split?
Absolutely. Press «Reshuffle» to draw a completely new random arrangement as many times as you want until the teams feel balanced.
