What it does

Image Editor is a full-featured, professional-grade editing suite that runs completely in your browser — no app to install, no account to create, nothing uploaded. Load any photo and you can crop to a precise ratio, straighten or rotate it, apply filters and colour grades, fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness, add text overlays in custom fonts and colours, draw freehand, drop in shapes, stamp a watermark, and resize to any exact dimension. Every edit happens on your device in real time, so there's no waiting for a server to process your image. When you're done, download the result in your chosen format. Carbide's Image Editor is completely free and gives you the same controls you'd expect from desktop software, right in your browser tab.

How to use the Image Editor

  1. Open Image Editor in Carbide and upload or drag in the photo you want to edit.
  2. Use the toolbar to crop, rotate, or resize the image to your desired dimensions.
  3. Apply filters or use the fine-tune sliders to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness.
  4. Add text, draw, insert shapes, or apply a watermark using the annotation tools.
  5. Click Download to save your edited image in your preferred format.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded to a server when I edit it?
No. Every edit — filters, text, crop, resize — happens entirely in your browser on your device. Your photo never leaves your machine.
What file formats can I download the edited image in?
You can download in JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Choose the format that best suits where you're going to use the image.
Can I add a custom logo or image watermark, not just text?
Yes. The watermark tool lets you add both text watermarks and image watermarks (such as a logo), with controls for position, size, and opacity.
Does the editor work on mobile browsers?
Yes. The editor is designed to work in modern mobile browsers as well as on desktop, so you can edit on the go without needing a desktop app.
