Gold Calculator
WEBValue your gold by weight, karat and making charge — see the metal value and total in your local currency.
What it does
Gold Calculator lets you find out exactly what a piece of gold is worth before you buy or sell it. Enter the weight in grams (or other units), select the karat — 24K, 22K, 21K, 18K, 14K, or any other — and optionally add a making charge or workmanship fee, and the tool instantly shows you the pure metal value plus the total cost in your local currency at today's live rate. It is the quickest way to check whether a jeweller's price is fair or to value your existing pieces. Built into Carbide, the calculator is completely free, works offline once gold prices are cached, requires no account, and runs entirely on your device so nothing you enter is ever sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
- What karats can I calculate?
- Gold Calculator supports all common karats including 24K, 22K, 21K, 18K, 14K, and 10K, as well as a custom karat entry if your piece has an unusual purity.
- What is the making charge and why does it matter?
- A making charge (also called workmanship fee) is the amount a jeweller adds on top of the raw metal value. Adding it here lets you see the full price breakdown and check whether the total quote you received is reasonable.
- Does it use real-time gold prices?
- Yes. Gold Calculator pulls the current market rate for your country automatically. If you are offline it uses the most recently cached price, which is shown on screen so you know how fresh the rate is.
- Can I enter weight in units other than grams?
- Yes. The tool supports multiple weight units including grams, tolas, troy ounces, and pennyweights, so you can enter the figure exactly as shown on your receipt or scale.
